Loelia Help

Getting started on the tablet

Loelia runs full screen and starts by itself when the tablet turns on, so it is there in the kitchen. It does not take over the tablet.

Loelia is a normal app

You can still press Home, open other apps, and use the tablet like any other. Loelia never locks you out of your own device.

Shared family tablet

This is the default. Leave things as they are. Loelia opens on startup and stays on screen while plugged in, and it goes dark at night on your schedule. Anyone can still switch to other apps.

Wall-mounted calendar

If the tablet lives on the wall and you would rather kids did not wander into other apps, turn on Android screen pinning:

  1. In Android Settings, search for “App pinning” (some tablets call it “Pin windows” or “Screen pinning”) and turn it on. Turn on “Ask for PIN before unpinning” too.
  2. In Loelia, open Device Settings and tap Pin Loelia.
  3. To unpin, hold Back and Overview (the square button) together, then enter the tablet’s PIN.

Pinning is an Android feature. You can turn it off anytime.

On iPad: use Guided Access. Go to Settings, Accessibility, Guided Access, and turn it on. Open Loelia, triple-click the side (or Home) button, and tap Start. Triple-click again and enter your passcode to leave.

Mounting

Adult PIN

Separate from pinning, Loelia’s own Adult PIN keeps kids out of settings and, if you choose, out of adding or editing events. Set it in Device Settings › Adult PIN.
